One more “yes it works” review of the Micro S’mores maker!

Apr 20th, 2010 by katie

I’m thrilled that TV stations continue to review the Micro S’mores maker to find out if it really works.

KPLC TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana recently reviewed the Micro S’mores maker.  Their verdict?  YES, it works!  Of course!

They did have to adjust their cook time from 10 to 8 seconds to get a perfect s’more due to the microwave’s wattage (1600).  You should keep this in mind too when you’re cooking your s’mores.

They also commented on how easy it is to clean, both by hand and that it’s dishwasher safe.  They also confirmed that the plunger is very necessary to making the perfect s’more.  They made a microwave s’more on a plate and it didn’t work out because nothing was holding the s’more together during the cooking process.

Click below for their full article, the video story on their review, and FINALLY – pretty cool – a “web extra” video of the reporter making a Micro S’more for 1 minute to find out what happens!  Check them all out!

Grandparents love the Micro S’mores Maker

Apr 18th, 2010 by katie

Grandparents LOVE the Micro S’mores maker!  What grandmother or grandfather doesn’t love having a small simple gadget to help them make a sweet treat for their grandkids when they visit?  It’s a heck of alot easier and quicker than trying to build a fire outside, that’s for sure!  And the end result snack is just as good, if not better because:

  • you can be super creative with the ingredients making s’mores in the microwave
  • it only takes 10 seconds to make a s’more in the microwave
  • the grandkids think it’s awesome to watch the marshmallow expand in the microwave
  • the grandkids love the end result!

It’s Girl Scout Cookie Time

Mar 15th, 2010 by katie

Hey everyone!  It’s Girl Scout Cookie time!!!  Gotta love those unique treats once a year.  So in honor of the Girl Scouts and their “invention” of the original s’mores made over a campfire —-   can you come up with a great Micro S’mores recipe using a Girl Scout Cookie?   If so, submit a comment with your recipe ideas and I’ll post them here on the S’mores Lovers site!  Keep in mind that if you are using a chocolate covered cookie, you will have to “sandwich” it in between Graham crackers still – or perhaps you can come up with something else?

I’ll have to think about some Girl Scout recipe ideas to post over the next couple weeks.  Also check the blog later this week for a fun Easter themed s’more recipe!
