Recipe: Chocolate Covered Strawberry S’more

Feb 21st, 2010 by katie

I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries!  But sometimes they are not available, and they can also be complicated to make.  This is a great alternative ”Valentine’s Day” snack to enjoy with family and friends – really any day of the week for that matter!  Of course this recipe provides a little extra “oomph” with the marshmallow, you could enjoy it with or without.

2 Graham Crackers
1 Tbsp. Strawberry Preserves
1 Square of Chocolate (dark chocolate is delicious with this one!)
1 Marshmallow

Spread strawberry preserves onto one Graham cracker.  Place this Graham cracker on the base of Micro S’mores cooker.  Place the chocolate square on top of the preserves.  Place marshmallow on top of the chocolate. Put the second Graham cracker on top, and place the Micro S’mores cooker on top of your creation.  Microwave for 10 seconds and enjoy!!!

Recipe: Skinny S’more

Jan 6th, 2010 by katie

Here’s a way to start the new year off right!  Just eliminate the chocolate and you will save calories and fat.  According to my crude calculations, the Skinny S’more has about 85 calories and 1.75 grams of fat with a regular Graham cracker. Buy the reduced fat Graham crackers and shave off some more fat and calories.  Not bad for a treat to curb your new year’s diet cravings!

Skinny S’more

2 Graham crackers
1 marshmallow

Place Graham cracker on the base of the Micro S’mores cooker.  Place marshmallow on cracker.  Add second Graham cracker onto marshmallow.  Place dome on the cooker.  Microwave for 10 seconds and enjoy!!

Recipe: Creative Christmas Leftovers S’more

Dec 28th, 2009 by katie

Alright, I’m sure we’re all on cookie, chocolate and goody overload from the holidays.  But what better way to deal with the leftovers than to make creative s’mores out of your leftovers!

Although I’m not going to put an official “recipe” here, I wanted to give you ideas on how to build your own Creative Christmas Leftovers S’more.  Although the standard microwave s’more is made in 10 seconds using your Micro S’mores cooker, please keep in mind that you may need to test at times slightly above or below 10 seconds depending on the ingredients you choose.

I would love to hear from you if you come up with a real “winner” of a Christmas Leftovers S’more!!!  Be sure to post a comment including your recipe at the end of this blog post!!

Creative Christmas Leftovers S’mores Ingredient Ideas – Mix and Match!:

  • 2 of your favorite Christmas cookies (the wider the better) instead of Graham crackers
  • Leftover Christmas chocolates instead of plain milk chocolate
  • Candy cane – would recommend crushing these up and pair  with chocolate and marshmallow on your cookie or Graham cracker of choice
  • Fudge…. sadly I didn’t get any this year to test with, so I’m not sure if this will work, but it’s worth a try right?!  Based on the ingredients fudge should melt.  You may need to chop up the piece a little to help it melt quickly and cover the cracker/cookie.
  • Marshmallow (of course!!)

Am I missing any big ingredients for this “recipe”?  What recipe did you come up with for your Creative Christmas Leftovers S’more??!!  Reply with your creative recipe!!
